How we work

Four phases, one accountable team

Every engagement runs the same way. We do not start until the scope is written down, and we do not finish until you have taken the system over.

  1. Scope

    A fixed-price discovery phase. We write up what is worth building, what it will cost and what could go wrong, before anyone commits to a build.

  2. Build

    A small senior team, not a rotating bench. Documentation is written as the system is built, and you see working software throughout.

  3. Handover

    The repository, the infrastructure accounts, the runbook and a recorded walkthrough. Handover is a phase with a date on it.

  4. Support

    Optional, and cancellable on thirty days' notice.

Working with public bodies and grant programmes

Publicly funded and public-sector work has requirements that commercial projects do not. We are set up for them.

Every engagement begins with something written down. Which of the three you need depends on how much is already decided.

    Two to four weeks

    Discovery

    Ends with a written technical concept, an effort estimate and a clear recommendation. Sometimes that recommendation is not to proceed.
  2. 02

    Defined milestones

    Delivery

    Defined scope, defined milestones, defined handover. You get it in increments you can judge as they arrive, not all at once at the end.
  3. 03

    Thirty days' notice

    Ongoing

    A recurring allocation of senior engineering capacity for organisations with a continuing roadmap. Cancellable, and never a condition of the original build.
